Medical Insurance –
HMO (3 Plans Offered) or POS Plan
The City pays 95% of single coverage in the base HMO plan. The City pays approximately 69% of the family premium in the base HMO plan.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
These plans provide coverage for medical, prescription drug, vision and mental health benefits.
Dental Insurance
The City pays 100% of single dental insurance coverage. The City pays 69% of the premium for family dental insurance.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
The dental plan provides for dental and orthodontic coverage.
Travel Assistance
The City pays 100% of the premium.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
Medical and prescription assistance during travel, both inside and outside the country.
Supplemental Vision Insurance
Employee contributes 100% of the premium.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
The supplemental vision insurance provides additional vision benefits not covered in the medical plans.
Employee Assistance Program
The City pays 100% of the premium.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
You are eligible to receive up to 3 face to face counseling sessions at no charge. In addition you are eligible to receive free basic legal assistance.
Basic Life Insurance
The City pays 100% of the premium.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
You receive basic life and AD&D insurance in the amount of $15,000.
Supplemental Life Insurance
Employee contributes 100% of the premium.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
You can purchase additional life insurance on yourself and your eligible dependents. Premiums are payroll deducted.
Supplemental LTD Insurance
Employee contributes 100% of the premium.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
You can purchase LTD insurance. Premiums are payroll deducted.
Ancillary Benefits
Employee contributes 100% of the premium.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
You can purchase Cancer, STD, Critical Illness, Accident, and/or Hospital Confinement coverage. Premiums are payroll deducted.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Voluntary. You have an opportunity to use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical and dependent care expenses.
All regular full-time employees are eligible on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
You will save on Federal, State and Medicare taxes paid on pre-taxed contributions.
401a Money Purchase Plan
Employee contributes 2% of regular earnings; City contributes 4% of regular earnings.
All regular full-time employees on the first full pay period of employment.
You can invest the funds in a vast array of funding options to obtain the greatest return on your investment. 100% vesting after 5 years.
457 Deferred Compensation Program
Employee contributes up to the maximum allowed by plan regulations. City contributes up to 3% of regular earnings.

Payroll Deducted Roth IRA
Employee contributes up to the maximum allowed by plan regulations.

Identify Fraud Protection
The City pays 100% of the premium.
All regular full-time employees.
You will receive legal assistance in the event your identity is tampered with.
Credit Union
Employee contributes 100%.
All employees.
Credit Union provides savings and checking accounts as well as loans and other financial services.
Holidays
City pays 100%.
All regular full-time and regular part-time employees.
Entitles employees up to 11 paid holidays per year, per Handbook.
Sick Leave
City pays 100%.
All regular full-time and regular part-time employees.
Entitles employees to accrue sick leave per schedule.
Annual Leave
City pays 100%.
All regular full-time and regular part-time employees.
Entitles employees to accrue annual leave per schedule.
Bereavement Leave
City pays 100%.
All regular full-time employees.
Entitles employees to use bereavement leave per schedule.
Jury Duty
City pays 100%.
All regular full-time employees.
Entitles employees to receive regular pay when performing jury duty. Any jury fees received by employee (except travel) must be reimbursed to the City.
Medicare
The City and employee pay 1.45% of eligible gross wages for Medicare tax.

Employees may be entitled to receive hospital and medical insurance at age 65 or earlier if disabled.
Social Security
The City and employee pay 6.2% of eligible gross wages.
All employees.
Employees may be entitled to receive benefits at age 65 or earlier if disabled.
Worker's Compensation
The City bears 100% of the cost of providing this statutorily mandated benefit.
All employees.
The City will provide and maintain a safe and healthy workplace, provide safe equipment and materials and establish safe work methods and practices. The City will provide income replacement and rehabilitation to all employees who are injured on the job in accordance with worker’s compensation laws.
