This position is a non-certified position held prior to academy training.
While in this position the employee will receive a minimum of ten weeks of law enforcement training. This requirement is in compliance with Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council Rule 464-5-.02. Enforcement type duties of a certified Police Officer will not be performed while classified as a Police Officer I. |

Minimum Qualifications:
POLICE OFFICER I- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or two years of related college coursework
preferred; possession of a valid State of Georgia driver's license (Class C) and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR); must be 21 years of age or older; must be a citizen of the United States; must have no record of a felony conviction. |
