At Monday’s council meeting, a community partner was presented with the Keep Riverdale Beautiful Appreciation Award. This award recognizes individuals or organizations that support and commit themselves to a more vibrant, clean and socially connected City of Riverdale.
Keep Riverdale Beautiful received a $2,000 grant from the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation on September 13, 2023, to support the local enforcement of Georgia’s Comprehensive Litter Prevention and Abatement Act. The grant will fund a workshop for police officers, sheriff’s departments, highway patrol officers, code enforcement officials, and others responsible for implementing the law.
The City of Riverdale is hosting a public open house that will display the draft recommendations for the 2023 Livable Centers Initiative (LCI)- “Developing City Center”. This grant program was created by the Atlanta Regional Commission to incentivize local jurisdictions to re-envision their communities as vibrant, walkable places that offer more mobility options, encourage healthy lifestyles, and provide better access to jobs and services. The planning team’s recommendations were driven by the community’s needs around housing, economic development, and connectivity to achieve this goal. The recommendations are focused within the two key study areas for the project: the greater Riverdale Core and the corridor between Church Street and Powers Street.
Riverdale, GEORGIA, August 7, 2023 – Recently, Riverdale Mayor Evelyn Wynn-Dixon, City Manager E. Scott Wood, and the Riverdale City Council cut the ribbon commemorating the grand re-opening of the Riverdale Regional Park playground and the Wilson Road improvements projects. The ribbon cutting marks the conclusion of the months long project to expand Wilson Road and renovate the playground area.
